The Two Best Types of Exercise for Hormone Health after 50
Marion Brand
If I could only recommend two forms of exercise after 50, they would be:
💪 Strength training
🚶♂️Walking
That's it.
Not because they're trendy.
Because together they check so many important boxes.
✔️ Strength training helps preserve muscle, supports healthy bones, improves insulin sensitivity, makes everyday tasks easier and helps maintain independence as we age.
✔️ Walking complements strength perfectly. It improves cardiovascular health, supports recovery, boosts mood, reduces stress and is gentle on the joints.
﹦When you combine the two consistently, you're building a body that's stronger, more resilient and better equipped to handle the changes that come with aging.
You don't need marathon workouts or complicated routines.
You need movement you can enjoy and continue doing for years—not just weeks.
That's the secret.
Fitness after 50 isn't about chasing exhaustion.
It's about creating a body that gives you more freedom.
